20 Minutes of Swimming A Day Can Help Lower Stress, Sleep Better And Relieve Body Ache

Swimming helps in toning your muscles, losing weight, enhancing brain activity, and a whole lot more!

Swimming is one of the most fun, relaxing, and effective exercises of all. It activates muscles all over your body. When you do something this good for your body, you don't just feel refreshed once you step out of the water, you feel energized and even healthy. You feel so good about yourself in so many ways. Putting this kind of hard work in on a regular basis can surely do wonders to our bodies. I mean, swimmers have the best bodies for a reason, don't they? Just like all other exercises, swimming too uses some body parts more than the others, however, it does not really leave anything out. There are so many benefits of swimming on a regular basis. Here are seven benefits of swimming for at least 20 minutes on a daily basis.

1. Better muscle strength

This is one of the most obvious changes you will see in your body after swimming on a regular basis. Your muscles get toned because they are constantly used while swimming. The muscles do not just look better, they are a lot stronger than you know. It helps more than any other aerobic exercise. Your upper body muscles (especially your shoulders and arms) get toned more than your lower body. However, there you use every muscle as you propel your way through the water. It is better than running and other aerobic exercises because you go against the resistance of the water.

2. Less pressure on bones and joints

This is where swimming is better than even working out in the gym. It works the body through the harsh side effects on the skeletal system. While working out in the gym or doing any other form of exercise we use our full body weight and our bone strength to a large extent which leads in the joints getting rusty (which is why people who workout consume fish oil). When immersed inside water we don't use any of our body weight or our bone strength. People suffering from arthritis can exercise too if under water.
